Not Sorry EPPosted by blatantblithe on September 9, 2009 Blog posts | | No comments
It’s been a weird, formative experience. But I’m happy with the result. My biggest concerns about the whole thing are my voice (I wish it was more guttural and had more impact – damn this airy-fairy soprano shit), and my lyrics.
It’s the lyrics thing that I find the hardest – I have a lot of rage and angst (of course, as most people do) that I want to get out into song, but I can never express myself elegantly enough. But I just have to keep reminding myself that I’m not as bad a lyricist as I think… I mean, most of the lyrics written by people at my level aren’t very good anyway. Also, someone told me that it’s not the talent that matters, it’s what you do with your talent that counts… I try to live by that philosophy. So here is the EP. Buy a copy and I’ll love you forever.
Other news: I’ve got a job! I’m a clerical assistant in the business rates department of the Carmarthenshire county council. It’s quite boring, filing and checking numbers all day (especially since I enjoy being challenged, and need a constant outlet for my creativity), but I can’t complain because I need the money and the people I work with are awesome.
I may say more about the recording process when I am feeling more contemplative and less tired. For now, I’m going to go and play the piano.
